Partnership Educators,

This month is always a series of great events all over the partnership.   Having the opportunity to attend Open Houses, performances, socials, and award ceremonies are the greatest.  I can't always make all of them but I really try to make it work in my schedule as much as possible.

Today I would like to tell you the "story" of a few of our powerful educational partners.

Last month we had the pleasure to watch the rest of Shasta County witness two great women within our midst.  Lynn Forero is an instructional aide at Bonny View School and was honored last month as the Para-Educator of the year for all of Shasta County.  She was such a gracious recipient and a wonderful example of what it means to be an instructional leader for her school.  Her heart is always about helping each one of the children she works with learning and engaged.  Congratulations Lynn and thank you.  Sam Warren is a custodian at Turtle Bay School and was honored as the Maintenance, Operations and Facilities person of the year for all of Shasta County.  Sam’s happiness towards others was infectious that night and enjoyed by all that had the pleasure of talking with her.  She so exemplified a kind and humble individual who offers nothing but her best in everything she does.  Congratulations Sam and thanks for who you are.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure to watch two of our teachers receive Rotary Teacher of the year awards.  Katherine Conway was named Rotary Secondary Educator of the Year.  She was nothing but amazing when she spoke about how she approaches her craft.   Katherine shared with the Rotarians that she strives to always be a learner.  Her intention is to help her students learn that they should always strive to be a lifelong learner as well.   Congratulations Katherine and thank you for your learning spirit.  Matt Van Dixon was also honored yesterday as the Rotary Elementary Educator of the Year.  His shared words were so inspiring to hear.  The never give up attitude and his loving guiding essence is so overwhelming to watch with his kids.  Congratulations Matt and thank you for your loving guidance.

Thanks for what you do.  Enjoy your weekend.
