NOTICE OF VACANCY AND PROVISIONAL
APPOINTMENT TO THE REDDING ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL DISTRICT
A letter of resignation was filed with the Shasta County
Superintendent of Schools on July 24, 2023 to be effective
July 24, 2023 creating a vacancy on the Redding Elementary
School District Board. In accordance with Education Code
Section 5091, the Redding Elementary School District Board
on September 12, 2023, selected
Megan Owens as the provisional appointee to fill the
vacancy.
Registered voters of the Redding Elementary
School District may submit a petition
calling for a special election to fill the vacancy. Such a
petition must be filed with the Shasta County
Superintendent of Schools within (30) days of the
the date of the appointment. If no petition is filed, this
provisional appointment shall be an effective appointment.
This notice is published pursuant to Education
Code Section 5092.
