Redding Elementary School District's PROMISE Program is housed at six participating school sites: Bonny View, Cypress, Manzanita, Juniper, Sycamore, Turtle Bay, and Sequoia Middle Schools.
The first priority of the PROMISE program at each site is to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students. We assist the students with homework assignments and identify areas of concern for additional tutorial services in Math and Language Arts. The program, a collaborative effort on behalf of the school district, public and private agencies, churches, parents, and local community members, offers homework and tutoring sessions as well as a variety of enrichment activities. Each site has developed a curriculum tailored to meet the needs and interests of its individual student population. Each child also receives a nutritious snack every day.
Some of the enrichment and youth development activities include: arts and crafts, computer fun, music instruction, robotics, dance instruction, cooking, and much more!
Program hours are from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please contact your local school director for more information about your school sites specific hours.
The PROMISE program is funded, in part, by a grant from After School Education and Safety (ASES), a part of the California Department of Education.
