During the April 18, 2023 Redding School District Board Meeting the Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Cindy Bishop as the new Superintendent of the Redding School District commencing July 1, 2023 upon the retirement of Rob Adams. Mrs. Bishop has served the last six years as Director of Educational Services & Student Services at the District level, and has provided over 26 years of service to the district including teaching at Juniper and serving as a site administrator at Manzanita, Cypress and Sequoia Middle School.
Mrs. Bishop has lived in the Redding area for over 40 years, and is a graduate of Central Valley High School. She and her husband of 30 years, Rusty, have two children who both attended Manzanita, Sequoia Middle School, and graduated from Shasta High School.
The Board of Trustees wants to thank Mr. Adams for his leadership and mentoring of Mrs. Bishop, which will provide the students, parents and faculty of the Redding School District the best education and administrative support available. The Board of Trustees looks forward to the next legacy of leadership where children are empowered to make a difference and all students afforded every opportunity to succeed.
